We Will Carry the Light
We will carry the light
Sun, Why Are You Sinking?
Sun, why are you sinking
behind the hill each night?
You leave the sky quiet,
and the world feels unsure.
But you always rise again.
Long ago, people sat around fire.
It kept them warm.
It showed them each other’s faces.
It told them: you are not alone.
Fire did not make life easy.
It made life possible.
Sometimes life grows dark.
Not because we failed,
but because darkness comes to everyone.
Work becomes heavy.
Days repeat.
Dreams feel far away.
Still, something small stays alive inside us.
A warm feeling.
A question.
A hope that refuses to leave.
Fire teaches us this:
You must care for what keeps you alive.
If you ignore it, it fades.
If you feed it, it grows.
Pain is not the enemy.
Giving up is.
Struggle does not mean you are broken.
It means you are becoming.
You do not need to know everything.
You do not need to be perfect.
You only need to keep going
with a little light in your hands.
When the sun goes down,
it trusts us to remember what it taught.
To be kind.
To think for ourselves.
To help each other.
To build something better
than what we were given.
Life is not just about getting through the day.
Life is for living.
So protect your fire.
Share it.
Use it to light the way
for yourself,
and for those who walk beside you.
Sun, rest now.
We will carry the light from here.
